Hotel Apartment Buildings – Dubai

CRHI were commissioned to project manage two beach front Hotel Apartment buildings at Dubai Water Front in Palm Jabel Ali. The project objective included:

  • The development project buildings (Hotel Apartments) shall be constructed in Madinat Al Arab – Dubai having a total built up area of 28,000 m²
  • The Hotel Apartment shall house Studios, 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom Apartments. Special usage facilities include: conference rooms, multi-purpose hall, swimming pool, gymnasium, restaurant, cafeteria and break room, pantries, private toilets, waiting areas and 2 prayer halls

The two building projects are intended to be unique landmarks for the Desert Group, reflecting a modern identity associated with quality branded hotels

Lake Preservation Project

The International City Lake, commonly referred to as Al Warsan Lake, is a cluster of artificially created wetlands in Al Awir region of Dubai. The lake lies inside the perimeter of the new development of International City to the south of the Dubai-Hatta Road. The lake consists of a number of distinct pools set in a flat desert landscape.
The lake and its neighbouring site is an important habitat for water birds and reeds. There is no regular feed of water to the lake. Water is pumped from the sewage treatment plants.
CRHI was retained in a project management role coordinating the consortium of international consultants where the scope was to enhance the lake and its surrounding and provide a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing conservation area and retain the ornithological importance of it and acquire international recognition of the site. The site houses a visitors’ centre, public aviary, and recreation park.

The Palm Jumeirah – Geotechnical Peer Revie

Nakheel Developers (formerly Dubai Palm Developers) awarded DHV Campbell Reith the contract to undertake a peer review of the geotechnical reports carried out for the realisation of Palm Island Jumeirah off the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The scope of work included:

  • Review of several reports pertaining to the geotechnical investigations that have been performed by others
  • Provision of geotechnical advice pertaining to the soil conditions in relation to the project as a whole
  • Provisions of recommendations consisting of technical specifications for the improvement of soil conditions in order to prevent subsidence and long term settlement
  • Review of test results and submission of reports regarding findings and additional recommendations

In addition to the above, the scope was extended to predict settlements of the villas at the fronds due to loads on foundation.

Green Community Marriott Hotel

CRHI has been appointed as Structural Engineer in a multi-disciplinary team lead by SDJV architects to design and supervise the construction of the First Phase of the Green Community Village part of a major development by Dubai Investment Park in an area close to Jebel All Zone.
The Marriott Hotel serves the Green Community area which is a mixed use near Jebel Ali. The project includes industrial, commercial and residential areas with the provision of all infrastructure provision including lakes and landscaping. The Green Community Village consists of approximately 900,000 square feet of development to be built around a man made lake in a Venetian style of architecture with a hotel and floating restaurant, terraced apartments, five office blocks, a four storey residential block and childcare facilities. The project is being designed and constructed to the highest quality standards.

Al Nujum Hotel

CRHI were commissioned to undertake the design management and construction management of luxurious five star hotel and beach resort located in Qurum, Muscat.
The development consists of a luxury five star hotel with 360 key with deluxe rooms and suites as well as chalets. The total built up area is over 53,000 square meters over 8 levels. All rooms enjoy the Indian Ocean views and recreational facilities such as a gymnasium, swimming pools and other ancillary facilities.
The hotel is set to host conference events and exhibitions in its 1,700 square meter ball room.
