Description of the Project
Client: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
CRHI were appointed (through their local partners in Abu Dhabi, Dewan Architects) by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to investigate and review the current car parking facility at their headquarters and to propose alternative solutions to improve the capacity and internal circulation in the car park.
A range of improvement schemes were developed following the completion of a topographical survey and traffic counts at the main entry points to the site to observe the demand and existing movements on the site.
The improvement schemes looked at the realignment of the parking bays, the use of angled parking bays, different layouts using one-way and two-way aisles and the repositioning of the entrances and exits to the various sections of the car park.
The schemes concentrated on the most efficient use of the available land in order to reduce the considerable congestion currently being experienced.
